Definition
Best Management Practices (BMP): In water damaged buildings, BMP are formulated from practical training and knowledge, using prior experience and judgement (BPJ). Education Note: On-site management in an emergency requires BMP to use all available engineering controls, berms and equipment, to contain water and sewage, controlling the release or spill from entering other areas of the building. BMP assesses the damage and removes other items from possible harm, including building occupants and workers.
