Biowashing: The appropriate use of detergents and cleaners, scrubbing and rinsing followed by sanitizers and disinfectants, that are meant to reduce or eliminate surfaceborne contamination. To be truly effective, biowashing, especially to contaminated porous building materials must be completed twice to truly be effective.
