Definition
Bleeding of Paint: A condition resulting in newly painted surface flotation of colour, showing a bleed through of the subsurface. If the subsurface is wood, the condition of bleeding usually is a result of tannin bleeding. Typically, the subsurface was not prepped properly or primed with a base coat to eliminate a bleed through. See Tannin Bleeding .
