Definition
Buckling: A twisting and bending action by a wood material such as a hardwood floor. Buckling may be caused by several factors, one being saturation of the wood cells by temperature and moisture vapour pressure. When a floor buckles, the damage sections must be removed, if there is to be any salvage value of the floor. Most often, the whole floor is a complete and total loss.
